Soccer and Wishing Star Farm

Fall came way too quickly but we have been enjoying all the festivities that come with the new season.  Parker started and finished soccer over the past few months.  He seemed to enjoy it although some days he just ran around on the field in his own world not paying attention to what was goin on with the game.  Even if he was not participating he was still having fun!

One of the fun fall festivities that we participating in was Wishing Star Farm.  Parker and I also went last year and repeated the tradition with friends.  Parker had a blast with all the activities and his favorite was the train ride, going down the fast slide and feeding the animals.

Parker decorated his pumpkin all on his own and decided what "parts" it needed. Unfortunately the feet and arms are my horrible cut outs. The pumpkin's squiggles are his hat, tummy, elbows and he put a nose on it with two dots. I asked why two dots and he said "for the nose sprays" ....too funny! Then it needed a bug on it as well

The End of Summer

I am not ready for summer to be over but it has been an enjoyable one filled with many fun activities with Parker.  I was in summer classes but had a great opportunity to spend a lot of time enjoying the weather and playing in the sun with Parker.

He participated in his first Soccer program at Little Kickers and we enrolled him in Tball on the Army base.  Both sports he seemed to enjoy and did well at.  The zoo continued to be a place we visited frequently along with the spray park.
Summer Fun

We took another annual trip to the family cabin in Estes Park.  Parker loves to feed the chipmunks so we took him up on the gondola where they are usually plentiful, however they seemed to be very scarce and hard to find.  Non the less Parker enjoyed trying to find them.

In August we spent a week in Maine visiting Nicks family and friends.  Parker enjoyed the tractors and golf cart at Lynn and Arthur's house and played his first game of put put with Steve and Jeannie.  Parker and I stayed a night in Boston with my friend Emily and her daughter Ella.  We enjoyed the beach and catching up since I have not seen her in a few years.

Every year there is a balloon classic and we finally ventured out to watch the balloon glow one evening.

The Race For The Cure 5k run took place at Garden of the Gods and Parker and I participated for the first time.  He was a good boy in the stroller which I was concerned about how he would be as he has not been pushed in a stroller in over a year.

We had professional pictures taken for Parkers third birthday....a little late though

That about sums up our summer and I wish I had been better about updating the blog over the past few months.  Now that I have decided to upload pictures to shutterfly I hope to keep the blog updated more frequently so I don't forget so easily what we have been up to.

We hope you have all enjoyed your summer!!

Summer

I am far behind updating the blog, the past few months have gotten away form me quickly.  After my spring semester Parker and I headed to Kansas for a week to visit family and Friends.

One of Parkers favorite things was seeing the dinosaur exhibit with the moving dinosaurs.  He seemed a little scared but wanted to be brave and see them all.  While in science city we saw a huge train exhibit that Parker went crazy over.

We also went to a farmstead, kaleidoscope and a few other children's education places.

Nick has been working full time with the Air Force reserve and I have been home with Parker this summer while taking summer classes.  Parker and I frequently go to the zoo, water parks and have been enjoying time with friends.  Nick and I had a fun time at a Hash run with some friends over memorial weekend where we had a fun run that involved a chase and some social drinking =)

So far it has been a great summer and Parker just keeps growing like a weed.  He is in soccer and tball and loves them both.

Easter and Hut Trip

Sitting with the Easter bunny was a little better for Parker this year.  We went on a slow day so we had plenty of time for Parker to warm up to the bunny.  There is a fountain behind the bunny and knowing Parker loves to toss coins I got him to go to the bunny's area with coins to toss.  We worked our way up to him actually taking coins from the bunnies hand.  This was a 15 minute or more process.  Parker still did not want to come close when Nick and I sat down but after I snatched him up he was fine.  So then we just shifted out of the picture and left Parker sitting next to the bunny.  He froze but luckily did not scream.  He just kept saying "get down"....at least we are making progress as he did not cling onto us for his life and cry.

He really wanted that egg open

Yummy chocolate candy

I went on another ladies hut trip this year.  This time we went to Janets cabin by Copper Mountain.  We first hiked over and hour about1.5hrs up Copper Mountain ski runs just to find the trail head.  Once we were nice and warmed up from that we went on our way and after a total of 5.5 hours made it the 5+ miles to the hut.  The weather started out with light snow but we did end with some sun.  That evening the clouds rolled in again and after dumping more snow on us lasted during the trip down. It took us 3 hours to get back down the next day.  I had a fabulous time with a great group of ladies and cant wait for the third trip.
Finally Made it
Amazing just how deep that snow is

St Patty, Family Time, Friends, Snow

We spend a beautiful day at the St Patty Parade downtown with friends and before we went I put shamrocks on the families cheeks and was surprised I got one on Nick =)

The boys were just being silly

Parker made an Owl

Making an Owl sound

We went to ITZ, a family fun center. The boys had a good time and I think Nick actually played more games than Parker

Parker and I went with friends to a place called Monkey Business. He had a great time playing with his friend Alexander

I cant resist getting a pick of him sleeping, looks like a little angel

We made the best out of a snow storm and went in the backyard to make a fort, snow angels, sled ride and throw snow balls

I would push him over and he fell into the fort then would get up and do it all over and over and over again. He just thought it was funny to be pushed over into the snow

It was hard work to get up out of that fort, but he just laughed
