Childrens Museum..visit with Rory, Tina and Kevin

We went to Denver today to meet my aunt, uncle and cousin (Rory, Tina and Kevin) who were visiting CU at Boulder and on their way out of town we got together to meet for lunch. First we stopped at the Childrens Museum to play.

After a good two hours of play we took a break for lunch and had a nice visit with the family!

Parker was obviously tired but we asked him if he wanted to go back and play. he said yes so we just though why not see how he does and we knew we could leave immediately and he could fall asleep in the car. We stayed another two hours and he was not cranky at all....but then he crashed hard in the car.

Art Sports--Valentines Day--Little Gym

On Valentines day we took Parker to a kids gymnastic place called Art Sports. He jumped on the trampoline for a while and enjoyed running around climbing on all the equipment.

Nick and I always make pizza on valentines day and Parker enjoyed helping make the pizza

Yesterday we took parker to another kids gym place. He wanted nothing to do with the group activities on the mat like running and playing with scarves. He just wanted to play on all the equipment.

Zoo, Computer, Play-dough, Big Bear and swimming/kindermusik update

We spend a warm day last week at the zoo!

As soon as Parker got close to the glass she got down like this to look at him

He is playing a game on my computer...just pushing buttons and looking at objects, shapes and colors. he loves to play with the computer

He is teaching big bear how to use the "computer"--it is a large calculator. He also gives his animals drinks from his sippy cup

He went over to my camera and was trying to look at it like he was taking a picture and saying "cheese" I asked him if he wanted his picture taken and he said yes....this is the cheesy result

This is the second week of his new swimming classes and this week he figure out how to get in and out of the pool by himself. He can pull himself up the wall and he thought it was the greatest thing that he figured out how to turn around when sitting on the wall and lower himself into the pool. He then will turn to me and let go with one arm to reach for me...he did a great job. He then tried to use his skills of climbing out of the pool at home on the kitchen counters.
He amazes me every week at his music class. He is the first one to jump and dance like a mad man. He now does a great job of "freeze" when we are in motion then have to stop. This is a hard skill for the little ones and I am glad he is getting it. He really loves the songs that the tempo changes and we dance fast or slow according to the song. He likes me to hold him and jump all around.

Our good little social butterfly

We got Parker back into swimming lessons starting this week and he is thoroughly enjoying it. He is still not a fan of laying on his back but he did think it was hilarious to splash me. After he splashed me the first time and saw me trying to get the water out of my eyes he kept doing it and would laugh hysterically after he knew he got me! He is still timid to jump off the side but enjoys it if he can hold both my hands and then just steps off the side.

He has been doing Kindermusik for a few weeks now and has a blast running, dancing, jumping and anything else that keeps him moving or making noise. We sign songs and dance along. He is really good about following directions and listening to the teacher.

Parker just loves everything we introduce him to and jumps right in like he as been doing it for a long time. He learns new things very quickly. I took him to check out a day care and when we were in the room for his age he went and played with the toys after a few minutes of checking out the place and feeling comfortable. When we went to the preschool room with 3-5 year olds he went right in and sat down at the table with the kids that were looking at memory cards. He looked like he fit right in and was totally content.

I have recently noticed how very social Parker is as compared to other kids his age or older. He really enjoys being around others and is very kind to the other kids. He usually does not get upset if someone takes a toy he was playing with but it is another story if they try to take it from his hands. He looks at me and gets upset as he tries to hold onto it for dear life. If we ask him to give up his toy to a kid that is screaming because they want it he nicely does. He is so sweet and kind.

He is very mellow tempered and goes with the flow easily. This is good because I am constantly taking him places and we are not able to keep to a strict schedule. When we are in public he waves hi and bye to anyone that looks in his direction. It is so cute every time we leave anywhere he waves and says bye bye to them, he is such an attention grabber.

He is such a good toddler and it is nice to see how good he really is when we are in public because at times when we have been home for a while it is easy to get exhausted with him when he acts like a typical toddler.
