A visit from my grandparents and uncles

My grandparents and two of my uncles (Scott and Kevin) stopped by for a few hours to visit on their way to Estes Park. They own a family cabin in Estes and were on there way there for the holiday weekend. They had a great time playing with Parker and we went to a neighborhood park for a visit.

My Sick Boys

This past weekend Parker came down with a cold and passed it onto Nick. Parker was laying in our bed watching cartoons and Nick snuggled up with him. They were so cute and I had to join them. After I laid down next to Parker he leaned over and gave both of us a kiss. It was sweet, I think he was loving all the attention.

Chance is very tolerant of Parker no matter what Parker is doing to him. Parker loves to sit on anything that is his height including Chance. Chance does not move and lets parker sit on him. I think Parker needs his own little chair, I know he would love it.

Playing in the sandbox at daycare!! Gotta love the Kstate purple =)

Will Rogers Shrine

In the mountains above the zoo is the Will Rogers Shrine. It is really close to our house but we had not yet visited it so we decided to check it out.

On the way up...

Parker Loves shoes, he gets that from mama. He decided to put on my slippers and try to walk in them. He didn't get very far.

Is it Fall or Summer??

The weather around here has been very unpredictable which is typical of fall but it just seems to early for the fall type weather to be sneaking around. On one of the cold days this weekend we checked out Mr. Bigs which is like an indoor amusement park. They have a little town called little big town. Parker ran around and had fun checking out all the different rooms. I suspect we will be spending a lot of time there this winter. We will have to find lots to do because as busy as he is staying inside for too long is just not an option or we might go a little crazy.

Sitting with mom on the cow...

The very next day the weather changed for the better so we took the opportunity to be outside.

We went to the Rocky Mountain Fair the other day and Parker checked out all the animals in the "petting zoo"

The past week or so Parker has been learning so many new things so quickly. He is signing several different words and picks up new ones very quickly. I think he has just changed a lot lately.

Parker is so Animated

Parker was more interested in sitting down on the bench then getting up and back down again then checking out the bunnies. I don't even think he knew they were there.

When Nick Picked Parker up from day care Betsy sent him home with a push up. When I came home for lunch this is how I found him....he love it. I am sure a lot of the excitement was just getting messy.

Sometimes I have to tack the back of Parker's parents so they fit him and the stitching on these came out so they fell down. He didn't think he could move so he was upset about it. He has such a little temper!

"Monkey see Monkey do" he learned how to do this little "I dont know" pose where he pulls his shoulder up to his chin, turns his head and opens up his hands....it is too cute. Little movie star in training.

Hey why not?? mom and dad have to have their amusement!

Parker doing sign language and trying to be just like daddy!

This weekend we visited the Turkey Ranch on base that was offering free pony rides and donkey cart rides for the kids. We thought maybe he could ride in the donkey cart if we walked next to it but they wouldn't let him until he was 2. But I think he had more fun on the bouncy horse than he would of in the donkey cart. There were also a kids size motel, bank and jail. He loved checking those out and some big kids were playing with him. It was so cute to see him try to keep up with the kids.

I started using sign language with Parker before he was one and he wanted nothing to do with it. So I stopped because I am too impatient to do something for a long time without immediate results. We started trying again because he is using his own sign language which is mainly pointing at things he wants or where he want them. He did start signing more, milk, eat and thank you all this weekend. More is the one he is using the most the other are hit and miss, but we are working on it.

Parker Signing More when Dad is feeding him cereal:

He wanted to be just like daddy and drink the cereal milk from the bowl. He had a nice milk moustache when he was done.

Parker loves to steal Nicks hat, put it on and walk around the house with it. Again he wants to be just like daddy.

The littliest things Parker does are so cute!

This past weekend as Nick was mowing the lawn and I was picking up the house Parker decided to take it upon himself to turn on the tv and climb up on the couch. After I gave him a snack he actually sat and watched cartoons for about 15 minutes which is 14 more than his normal tv attention span.....or just he attention span in general.

Apparently parkers favorite lunch at day care is chicken parmesan and our day care provider, Betsy, sent me this picture. She sends me some pictures and videos from her phone during the day. I love getting a little glimpse into what he is doing during the day.

Parker just loves to share his food and feed us. He thinks it is hilarious if you "get his fingers" and dont let them go. This was something Nick started with him and I was being persuaded into playing the game while Nick had the camera.

Its Hot Outside!

As I was trying to figure out how to use this blog more efficiently I discovered I can input some email addresses to send an email alert when I post a new blog. I put our parents and grandparents on it already....hope it worked. If anyone else wants me to add their email address so you don't have to check the site just let me know!

Since it has been nice and warm here the best thing to do outside is be in the water. Because of the dry mountain air it gets too cold to be in a pool for very long so we keep going back to our new favorite hang out, the spray park. Parker keeps getting braver and more tolerant with it spraying him in the face. It is so much fun to watch him play and he can be a lot more independent than in the pool.

A few weeks ago parker finally mastered getting over the baby gate at the top of the stairs to get down by himeslf. It is a little tricky for him.
