First Haircut and Pumpkin Patch

We took Parker for his first haircut yesterday on his 17month bday. This is on the way there...

He had to sit on Nick's lap. He was not happy about having to sit there. He was a little sleepy so that didn't help

He fell asleep in the car on the way home

I went with a friend to take our boys to the opening of the pumpkin patch. Most of the time there we picked blackberries. Parker and his friend had fun just wondering around. It was such a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and the weather was perfect.

Videos

Nick was laying on the ground and Parker kept giving him kisses and throwing himself on top of Nick. It was too cute not to get on tape.

Parker knows several sign language words now which is so very helpful for us to understand him. I thought I better get it on tape so when he starts talking our ears off I can look back and recall how nice it was for him to just use sign language and be a little more quiet. Plus it is so cute to see him communicating like this and understanding more.

Mr Independent had to hold his own yogurt cup and feed himself. It was a funny sight and he made a mess of course all over the floor and himself. It was fun to let him try and do it himself.

Last week parker started to actually climb up the steps at the park and go down the slide by himself. He is a little too timid to go down most of the slide on his butt by himself but at least he has gotten enough independence and courage to go up and down without help. He is very careful and so far I have not had to worry about him trying to go over the edge of the jungle gym or down a big slide that he could hurt himself on.

Labor Day Weekend Visit From My Parents

My parents drove here for a visit for a four day holiday weekend. We had a nice visit and tried to visit a few different places around the springs. Nick and I also got the chance to stay in Denver for the night while they watched Parker for us. It was a nice break especially since we dont get to do that.

We drove up to the top of Pikes Peak and enjoyed the views from way up high. Nick and I have been here three years and that was the first time we took the opportunity to visit Pikes peak. It is 14110 feet up and very chilly.

Of course my mom brought Parker some new outfits, one of which was this cute snowsuit. Obviously it is a little too big for him still, hopefully he can wear it this winter. He had a hard time moving in it.

We took a few trips to the large fountain at America The Beautiful park. Parker loves playing in the water. My parents also got to take him to the spray park when Nick and I were away.

My parents gave Parker a table and chairs set. He had fun getting up and down on the chairs but needed help because it is still too big for him. It worked out well for finger painting.
